  1. Laboratory Heat Sealers and Their Uses A laboratory heat sealer is a machine that allows you to seal two objects together. A lab heat sealer can be used for many purposes, including sealing plastic bags, sealing envelopes and boxes, and even sealing individual bags. Heat Sealers are very important tools that every production line should have to ensure that quality products are being made on time. All heat sealers use the same principle of using high temperatures to melt the plastic and form a bond between both materials so that the two layers can be joined together. These machines are available in all shapes and sizes; there are those small handheld models, large industrial machines, and even those large machines that can be attached to an oven or stand alone machine. Types of Heat Sealers The different types of heat sealers are band-type sealers and hot bar sealers. Band-type sealers are the most commonly used in food packaging industries. They are used for sealing bags, boxes and other plastic packaging materials. The hot bar sealer is a special kind of heat sealer which is used to heat up a metal strip behind the sealing edge that seals the plastic material from outside. Laboratory Heat Sealers The most useful kind of heat sealers are laboratory heat sealers, which are used to seal plastic bags and sachets used in the packaging industry. These seals have a wide range of uses. They can be used for sealing plastic bags and other materials to make them waterproof or airtight. They can also be used to seal food or other items, such as cosmetics, in order to preserve them from contaminating outside elements. The main disadvantage of these seals is that they do not work well with thin materials such as paper or cloth. If a thin material is being sealed, it needs to be sealed by hand first and then placed into a machine afterwards. The Uses of Laboratory Heat Sealers Here's a breakdown of what laboratory heat sealers are commonly used for: 1.Food Packaging: Food packaging is the number one use of heat sealers, and it's easy to understand why. It keeps items fresh and prevents them from rotting, making them an absolutely essential component of the Food and Beverages

  2. industry. They're also sometimes used to seal more immediately perishable food so it will stay good for a few days. 2.Sealing Electronic Products: Laboratory heat sealers are often used to seal electronic products that could be damaged during transport or due to rough handling. The thermal adhesives used for sealing electronic products also protect them from external factors like weather damage. Sealing 3.Medical Products: Medical heat sealers are used to seal hypodermic needles and other medical equipment from damage during shipping or storage. They're also used for sealing blood bags, which helps prevent contamination. Medical test strips also come under this, and are sealed with heat sealers so they aren't contaminated by pollutants or additions. Testing the Strength of the Sealant: The Takeaway To find out how strong the seal is, you can use a tensile tester to gauge it's quality. A tensile tester is a tool that measures the force required to pull on an object and then determines if it's strong enough to hold its load. It will test the toughness of the material and check if it has any significant flaws that could affect its performance. To use a tensile tester, you must first measure the thickness of the sealant. Then measure how much force it takes to pull on the object with your hand and compare that to what you'd need to pull on a defective sealant. The higher the number, the stronger the seal is.!
