  2. Adequate Yearly ProgressNew York State Plan % Basic Proficiency or above + % Proficient or Above= Performance Indicator. The school/district performance indicator is compared to a School Accountability Performance Indicator set by NYS for each assessment.

  4. Disaggregated Groups for AYP (NCLB) In the grade(s) assessed: • All students • Economically disadvantaged students • Students in major racial and ethnic groups • Students with disabilities • Students with limited English proficiency

New York State:Size of Disaggregated Groups for AYP A minimum group size of 30 students in each disaggregated group taking an exam is necessary for a school or district to be held accountable for content A minimum group size of 40 students is necessary for a school or district to be held accountable for participation

  6. Participation Rates An assessment participation rate of at least 95% is required for the buildings and any disaggregated groups that meet the minimum size requirement.

  7. In Summary: A School or District Makes AYP If ... Every “disaggregated group for AYP” of sufficient size to produce statistically reliable results meets the measurable objective in both language arts and mathematics, AND • Has an assessment participation rate of at least 95%, AND • The school or District meets the criterion for the other academic indicator(s)
