  1. Interviewing for a job-other tips • Why use the SimaLixia approach: - Before you interview, assess your interviewer’s perspective, determine your purpose, anticipate your interviewer’s key questions/objections, and know your main points/replies to these key questions/objections. - When you interview, you’ll be ready to handle most, if not all, of the questions he asks. And you’ll be confident. • “Do you have a question for me?”: Prepare a question or two for your interviewer—just in case he asks you if you have a question for him.

  2. Interviewing for a job-other tips-continued • Ask about next steps: If your interviewer doesn’t say when he’ll get back to you, ask, saying, “When might I hear back from you about this opportunity? After he replies such-and-such a date, you can ask, “If I don’t hear from you by such-and-such a date, may I follow up with you by email or phone?” Of course, make sure you have his email address/phone number. • When it’s over, it’s over: Don’t keep talking when your interviewer wants to end the interview. Instead, stand when your interviewer stands and shake hands. • Successful interviews are more like a dialogue, not an interrogation or a power struggle between the interviewer and the interviewee.
