Dubai Foundation For Women And Children The Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) is the first licensed non-profit shelter in the UAE for women and children victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and human trafficking. It was established in July 2007 to offer victims immediate protection and support services in accordance with international human rights obligations. Admission Policies In accordance with our mandate, DFWAC offers services to women and children victims of violence who are defined by Law 15/2007, which established the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children. Service provision is defined by the law. Admission Criteria: Women and children experiencing any type of abuse or violence. Not in immediate danger of harming yourselves or others and/or in need for a psychiatric hospitalization. Not infected by a contagious disease. Not male of 12 years or over. Case Admission Procedures Clinical Services Client Accepted Weekend Admissions: Orientation by House Mother Case Work Orientation Aftercare Planning Intake: 1-2 days Case Resolution Return to Community Set up weekly appointment with counselor Counselor Exit Plan Repatriation to country of origin Support Plan Week1 Counseling Session 30-90-180 Day Follow-Up Set up weekly meeting counselling and case management sessions
