  2. Tip #1 • Capitalize abbreviations that come before and after names. • Ex: Mr., Mrs. Ms., Dr., Gen., M.D., Jr., Sr., RN

  3. Tip #2 • Capitalize abbreviations of the names of organizations, businesses, and government bodies • Ex: Inc., Co., Corp., FBI, UN, NAACP, FDA

  4. Tip #3 • Capitalize abbreviations of roads, rooms, and post office boxes. • Ex: Ave., Dr., Rd., Apt., Rm., P.O. Box

  5. Tip # 4 • Capitalize abbreviations of geographical names • Ex: N.Y.C., St. Louis, N. America Calif., TX

  6. Tip # 5 • Here are some abbreviations that are not capitalized. • Ex: etc., e.g., vol., chap., in., yd., lb., ml., mm.
