Experience of IP Management in Spain: Road Map for Universities

This presentation discusses the current status of IP teaching in Spain, highlighting the weaknesses and lack of awareness in non-law faculties. It presents the actions taken by the Spanish Patent and Trademark Office (SPTO) to promote IP education, such as the creation of the "Aula.de.Propiedad.Industrial" section on the SPTO website, the development of teaching materials and e-learning modules, and the recognition of patents in professional records and remuneration of university professors. The presentation also discusses the collaboration between SPTO and the Industrial Organization School (EOI) in establishing the "Carlos Fernández-Nóvoa" Endowed Chair in Innovation and Industrial Property. Additionally, it highlights the activities and workshops organized by SPTO and EOI to promote patent internationalization and provide administrative IP management training to non-legal staff.
