How useful external trigger is? • SPE-based measurement SPE-based study is very important and fundamental, but we can’t see SPE signals from light source because of the bunch of noise • Control trigger rate You don’t need to take 10 kHz dark noises anymore but signals at a rate just as you like • Standalone operation DOM can take the data from the light source by itself alternatively (you don’t need other DOMs or MB anymore) • After pulse measurement You can trigger anytime you like, which enables you to see after pulses

  25. By the way… Quad-LC signal works very well as a event trigger. Cosmic μ (bkg) Rayleigh scattered Photon signal peak Externally triggered LED signal, no bkg

  26. How about next year? • We are providing another set of 8 Golden DOMs next year. • Chiba calibrate and ship them to UW via Hamamatsu in May 2006 for FAT in May or June.
