  1. Condiment Guidelines Head Start provides children meals low in fat, salt, and sugar. We encourage children to appreciate the natural flavor of food without a lot of “extras”. Please use condiments sparingly when served with the foods below. Syrup Pancakes Ketchup Chicken nuggets, steak fingers, fish sticks, hamburgers Ranch dressing Salad, veggie sticks Butter A small brushing of butter may be used to coat cinnamon toast Remember: Always ask if the child wants the condiment A small amount is enough
