  4. Elos Creates a curriculum of European and International Orientation (EIO) Based on the Common Framework for Europe Competence (CFEC) Based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

  13. Letter of Commitment & Elos School Standard Schools sign–up to working towards implementing the Elos School Standard over a period of 3 years. General criteria: • enabling students to develop ‘Europe competence’ through the school curriculum & activities abroad • embedding the Elos goals in school curriculum & school policy • building staff competence & institutional capacity • involvement in international exchange activities (real or virtual) • monitoring & evaluating

Elos Schools • Following approval by the national coordinator/national advisory panel, schools can use the general Elos School logo • Schools receive a National School manual and guidance & support from the Elos national coordinator • Schools can apply for an Elos School Accreditation (evidence of 80% of the criteria in the Standard) • A transnational quality assurance system will be put in place to ensure transparency in national procedures & mutual compatibility.

Elos in the classroom & in school activities In lessons: • Complete an audit of all European/International themes in school lessons • work collaboratively in lessons and projects with other subjects and schools (abroad) In activities: • visits abroad (cultural visits) • email and internet projects (ESP/eTwinning) • student and teachers exchanges (Comenius school projects) • projects with partner schools (ESP)

  20. Certification Student: • Student portfolio based on CFEC • Awarded by certified Elos school ELOS STUDENT CERTIFICATE (at the end of school career)

  22. ESP & Elos • Partner since 2005 • ESP schools members of Elos network • ESP head teachers & teachers participation in conferences, seminars and projects • Elos school plaques presented to ESP schools • Elos publications distributed to ESP schools
