COMPLESSO RIBOSOMA-SRP (SEQUENZA SEGNALE) Una sequenza segnale per il reticolo endoplasmatico rugoso e una particella di riconoscimento del segnale (SRP) indirizzano il ribosoma alla membrana del reticolo stesso. L’SRP si lega alla sequenza segnale per il reticolo endoplasmatico (RE) esposta dal peptide nascente. Il complesso SRP-ribosoma si lega quindi a un recettore per SRP situato nella membrana dell’RE. A questo punto l’SRP si libera (non mostrato), lasciando il ribosoma sulla membrana dell’RE, in corrispondenza di un canale di traslocazione. Il canale allora risucchia la catena polipeptidica nella membrana e comincia a traslocarla dall’altro lato.(Da: Hartwell et al., 2004; Weaver, 2005; Hickman et al., 2005; modificate.)
