  1. Interoperability & Integration Innovation Lab I3L

  2. Interoperability & Integration Innovation Lab • Vision: Move the health information technology (HIT) industry to the “future state” required to facilitate and support patient-centered, economically feasible, improved quality healthcare to the benefit of personal and public health • Mission: Accelerate innovation by significantly reducing the cycle time and cost from idea to market of disruptive HIT http://i3l.gatech.edu/

  3. I3L Gateway to the GT Health Cloud & Partnership Internet Resources • I3Engagements • Interoperability Demonstrations • Vendor Collaborations • Workforce Training • Student Training • Engineering & Research

  4. What the GT Health Cloud Provides • Provides a virtually available suite of open source and commercial resources for collaboration and “co-opetition” • Interoperability evaluations, demonstration and formal standards testing services, research opportunities, and commercialization assistance • An evolving “state-of-the-market” learning suite of products for workforce training and development • A continuously refreshed product suite

  5. Access to Cloud Resources Four I3L Gateway Service Lines • Each Service Line provide access to one or more GT Health Cloud Resources • Support for Identity and Access Management Policies Privacy – synthetic data, de-identified data, “real data” Security – Audit log reporting, PKI encryption in flight Scalability – Access to professional cloud resources and high-performance computing • Service Line Descriptions: Testing Services – supports standards-based conformance testing; usability testing; performance testing; and tests software ports to cloud-based platforms; synthetic data only Proof-of-Concept Services – supports education and innovation; focused on transition strategies from legacy products to new product concepts and applications – a non-production environment with synthetic data only Light Production Services – (FUTURE) supports the translational research step from POC to real data; allows both identified and de-identified datasets for both active patient care and analytics Full Production Services – (FUTURE) supports the translational research step from Light Production to full Scalability; implemented in cloud-based SaaS environments , especially for research requiring large transaction volumes datasets for translational research and public health analytics

  6. 7. I3L Membership • Connect with other enterprises with resources / labs or shared vision and grow a health IT innovation ecosystem • Sustain our contribution through a membership model • Govern through participants self-selecting their depth of involvement; minimal structure • Create clear value proposition for membership • Facilitate collaboration toward integration

  8. Proposed Level of Participation:ML4: Vendor Suite = $30K • Seat on the I3L Industry Advisory Board or the Education and Workforce Advisory Board • Premier Sponsor affiliation listing and signage at all I3L events and in the I3L Showcase • Identification of premier membership / PR value through listing in I3L marketing communications literature, on the I3L web site and in press releases when applicable • Opportunity to fund graduate research assistants for HIT Design Clinics / industry projects at reduced rates • Networking with the most robust Health IT cluster in the country • First Access to HIT graduate students and faculty advisors for recruiting purposes • Early access to relevant research publications • Reduced rate subscription to ConTesA

  9. I3L Showcasing & Benefits • Obtain “street-level” space and exposure • Provide a “desired destination” for convening around health IT and related policy • Educate and inform local and regional partner institutions’ research and teaching faculties, students and investors, and stakeholders about resources and value propositions available to them through visual demonstration • Encourage connection with other academic institutions and organizations that share the vision of the "Future State Health IT Innovation Network" in a touchable way • Provide a distinct and unique benefit to all four of the proposed I3L Membership Levels as a high-value public relations and business development tool…Bring business stakeholders to the Showcase to demonstrate new technologies and increase market exposure • Inform sponsors, legislators, donors, and the industry cluster about the I3L in a “hands-on” environment
