Where is SCC Technologytoday? • ILI technologies for detection of SCC in liquid pipelines exist • There are promising technologies for detection of SCC in • gas pipelines • The NACE SCCDA standard along with ASME B31 8S • Appendix A3 provide a framework for SCC threat management • Reliable in the ditch sizing has yet to be demonstrated to the • industry

  4. OPS GOAL OPS R&D effort stimulates economic activity, creates job opportunities and strengthens the industry’s competitive position in global markets. OPS will match one-for-one industry’s R&D contribution to collaborative research. This will stretch industry’s research dollar and ensure OPS research priorities accurately reflect the sector’s real needs. Speed up the process of transferring new technology into the private sector.

Summary • Research has been active and productive in the area of • SCC since mid 1960s • R&D gap analysis identifies needs in: • Modeling development and validation • Refinement of growth models for establishing • re-inspection intervals • ILI for gas pipelines • Accurate NDE sizing –both ILI and in the ditch • Practical ECA tool(s)
