What is the Web? “The Web” is short for the “World Wide Web”.
The Web is a growing set of documents (websites or web pages) that are connected to each other using the Internet.

Finding Websites • You need to have a computer that is turned on and connected to the Internet. • You need a web browser like Internet Explorer Firefox Safari Google Chrome
Web Browsers • Web browsers are programs that help you find and look at web sites. • Internet Explorer comes with Windows operating systems. • Safari comes with Mac (Apple) operating systems. • You can download other browsers for free.
