  1. A game for class… • We’ll run this as long as you are paying attention and not getting too crazy • Guse and Heather will need to leave in order to get the rules • Sit quietly while we are gone • M&M’s should not be eaten until we say so when we return

  2. Did you listen? • Did you get up and move around? • Did you eat M&M’s? • Did you know you were recorded the entire time we were gone?

  3. Rules review • Go over the rules • Heather will keep track of who breaks the rules • She won’t point it out • She won’t correct you

Do you know the Commandments? • We’re going to play a game… • Ring in when you know the answer • Some will be MC (Multiple Choice), others will not • PAY ATTENTION! • 1 point for correct responses • Lose a point for incorrect responses • One person may ring in at a time, it will switch and you cannotwork together

  18. 1st Commandment • You shall have not other gods. • What does this mean?: We should fear ,love and trust God above all things.

  19. 2nd Commandment • You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not curse, swear, use satanic arts, lie, or deceive by His name, but call upon it in every trouble, pray, praise, and give thanks.

  20. 3rd Commandment • Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not despise preaching and His Word, but hold it sacred and gladly hear and learn it.

  21. 4th Commandment • Honor your father and your mother. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not despise or anger our parents and other authorities, but honor them, serve and obey them, love and cherish them.

  22. 5th Commandment • You shall not murder. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not hurt or harm our neighbor in his body, but help and support him in every physical need.

  23. 6th Commandment • You shall not commit adultery. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we lead a sexually pure and decent life in what we say and do, and husband and wife love and honor each other.

  24. 7th Commandment • You shall not steal. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not take our neighbor’s money or possessions, or get them in any dishonest way, but help him to improve and protect his possessions and income.

  25. 8th Commandment • You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not tell lies about our neighbor, betray him, slander him, or hurt his reputation, but defend him, speak well of him, and explain everything in the kindest way.

  26. 9th Commandment • You shall not covet your neighbor’s house. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not scheme to get our neighbor’s inheritance or house, or get it in a way which only appears right, but help and be of service to him in keeping it.

  27. 10th Commandment • You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor. • What does this mean?: We should fear and love God so that we do not entice or force away our neighbors wife, workers, or animals, or turn them against him, but urge them to stay and do their duty.

  29. Talk about it! • Many people say the 10 Commandments are out of date? What do you think? Are these out of touch with the current time? • Turn to 2 Peter 3:1-9 • Is it possible to go a time without breaking any of the commandments? How long? Why do you say so? • Is it possible to only break one commandment at a time? Why do you say so?
