  1. Welcome To The New HOPE Time Exchange is a network of individuals and groups dedicated to exchanging goods and services with each other, building community, and creating a healthy and sustainable world for the future generations and our environment.

Overview • New HOPE Time Exchange was started by Parent Support Network in 2007 with the ongoing support of TimeBanks USA and a world wide Time Banking movement. • It is a member led organization and we have close to 300 members • We utilize the hOurworld Time and Talent Database. • We continue to evolve as the membership grows. • How can you utilize New HOPE Time Exchange to help yourself and the community?

  3. Time Banking Principles & Values ASSETS: Every human being has something to offer. From the youngest to the oldest, we all have unique strengths. REDEFINING WORK: Some work is beyond price, like work that builds strong families, revitalizes neighborhoods, advances social justice, and makes the planet sustainable. RECIPROCITY: Helping works better as a two-way street. We can work together to build a better world. SOCIAL NETWORKS: We need each other. Networks are stronger than individuals and we can weave a community of support. RESPECT: Every human being matters and deserves respect.

  4. Membership Process • Online or Paper Application • 2 References • Sign Membership agreement • Orientation- meet membership; review handbook, insurance, and Time and Talent Database. • Attributes Checklist to support programs and funding • Receive ongoing communications and Support from membership and coordinators. **Additional Background Criminal Investigations or Child Abuse Neglect Tracking System checks for members wanting exchange with special populations and/or transporting.

  5. Exchanging with Members • Keep your account updated with contact info and services. • Contact membership by phone or database to make offers and requests. • Coordinators can be assigned and are available to help you with contacting membership. • Be on time or give 24 hour cancellation notice. • New HOPE Time Exchange is a not an emergency provider.

  6. Communicating with Members ● Agree upon the who, what, where, when, why, and how before the exchange including materials needed, location etc. ● Utilize service descriptions online to clarify your skills and experience. ● Usually the provider of a service reports the hours earned online. ● The receiver can give kudos to the exchange by being a reference so others can know about the positive experience.

  7. Have Fun, Get Active • Be proactive, don’t wait for someone to call you, start exchanging. • Be social, go to potlucks and events or connect to those with like interests online. • Recruit everyone you know, the more people and offers available to exchange the better. • Get comfortable with the paper or online directory and coordinators. • Join the New HOPE Time Exchange Cabinet Leadership Team. • Become a coordinator and help establish a time exchange in your area.
