  2. What do you know about recycling?

  3. Recycling Re-process material to a make another product

  4. What do you know about reusing?

  5. Reusing Use product in original form, but in new way.

  6. What do you know about reducing?

  7. Reducing • Reduce consumer use of materials • Reduce material use in product manufacture • Decrease toxicity • Increase useful life (durability, repair-ability)

  8. Reducing Reduced (or more efficient) consumer use of materials

  9. Reducing Reduced material use in product manufacture

  10. Reducing Decreased toxicity

  11. Reducing Increased useful life through durability and repair-ability

  12. Reduction Prevents the generation of waste. It’s the preferred—but often-overlooked—strategy. Retrieved at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Waste_hierarchy.svg

  13. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle The hierarchy has its limitations. Production and consumptionare far more important needs to address than disposal.
