  3. 1. Current Frequency Band for Mobile communication

  4. 2. 2009 Plan- 800MHz Auction • 45MHz is currently being used by SK Telecom for 2G Digital cellular Service. • SKT license will be terminated in June 2011. • 20MHz among 45MHz bandwidth in the 800MHz band would be licensed to • other operator such as a newcomer or an existing operator in 2009.

  5. 2. 2009 Plan - 900MHz Auction • The bandwidth of 20MHz of 900MHz band will be identified newly to 3G or Beyond 3G service after the retrieval from the bands for FM Broadcasting auxiliary service etc in 2009. • * RFID Band(908.5~914MHz) has the plan to move to the 917~923.5MHz.

  6. 3. Future Plan after 2009. • Available Bandwidth for Mobile Communication in the future

  7. 3. 700MHz Future Plan after 2009. • Korea Communications Commission (KCC) completed the DTV channel arrangements in the band 470-698MHz in 2008 • KCC will complete the usage plan on available frequency bandwidth derived from the temporary digital dividend band (698-806MHz) including the implementation of IMT while participating in the study of JTG 5-6 on WRC-11 agenda item 1.17. in 2009.

  8. 4. 2.1GHz Future Plan after 2009. • LGT had withdrawn their license(40 BW, 1920~1940 Tx, 2110~2130NHz Rx) which had identified for 3G(cdma2000) in 2006. • KCC is going to consider the grant of new license to any interested party.

  9. 4. 2.3GHz Future Plan after 2009. • Hanaro Telecom had given up their WiBro license(2363-2390MHz) in 2005 • KCC is going to consider the grant of new license to any interested party.
