  1. Foods @ DCS Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:23-24

  2. Who? • Anyone can participate in Foods • You do not need to have any formal background in cooking or baking • Responsible, hard-working, and committed students are ALWAYS welcome!

  3. What? • The class will be centred on community service • The foundation will still be cooking, but we will use our learned skills to benefit those in our community • You can expect to cook or bake approximately once a week • You can expect to be off school grounds at least once every two weeks • There will be opportunities to make soup for students at other schools, baked goods for seniors, and lunches for school visitors

  4. How much? • Right now there is no cost to you to join the Foods class • However, there may be an opportunity for you to take an optional FoodSafe course at the beginning of term that will cost approximately $25 (this is still a VERY good deal!)

  5. Why not just cook for ourselves? • This year, the Foods program at DCS has been approached NUMEROUS times by external groups looking for help in this area • People in the community NEED our help • Serving others is an opportunity (spiritually, socially) • There are other rewards too!
