Making suggestions and planning based on rec d.50 Creating the exchange Point in South Eath Asia Nations : • Hub point • exchange traffics : announce IP blocks, Autonomous System Numbers Connecting to other Asia nations : • China, Japan, Korea, India, Australia, etc • Connect to Europe (LINX, for instance), Africa
Making suggestions and planning based on rec d.50 Our goal to be fair with US carriers Why needs to be found an Asia Pacific Internet eXchange Point: • Internet trafics increased nearly balanced between regions • Asia Pacific Region has not yet found any regional Internet exchange point • Most of the transit traffics between countries are United State • Save money for nations by applying technique such as caching, etc. • Representative to negotiate with other regions, US carriers • Make full use of fible optics (SEA-ME-WE3, CSC, etc)
Making suggestions and planning based on rec d.50 Current model without Asia Pacific exchange point and directly conneted between nations United State Nation 2 (IXPs) Nation 2 (IXPs) Downstream Customer Downstream Customer Downstream Customer
Making suggestions and planning based on rec d.50 Why not the multi-homing Model Regional Multi-homing Nation 2 (IXPs) Nation 2 (IXPs) Downstream Customer Downstream Customer Downstream Customer All benefited
Making suggestions and planning based on rec d.50 My planning : Submit the “muti-homing” model to : • Ministry of Post and Telecoms • ASEAN meeting on Telcoms industry for discusions -> dicision
