Introduction • Ohio’s regional campus system is a collection of various organizational structures. • The University System of Ohio Initiative has the potential to drastically alter the missions and structures of Ohio’s regional campuses. • The universities included in this presentation were those with more than one regional campus

  3. Number of regional campuses and where they report • One University Structure • Kent State – • 7 regional campuses • Report to Senior Vice President and Provost • Have interim Executive Director of Regional Campuses • Ohio University – • 5 regional campuses • Report to Executive Dean for Regional Campuses • 2 “centers” with directors

Number of regional campuses and where they report • One Regional Campus Academic Structure • Miami University “proposed model” • 3 regional campuses (with VOALC) • Report to Regional Campus Administrator who reports to the Provost • Centralized Structure • Ohio State University • 4 regional campuses • Report to Executive Vice President and Provost

Course Scheduling and Faculty Workload • One University Structure • Kent State – • Course scheduling is done by area coordinators (no department chairs) • Workload is 12 credit hours per term • Ohio University – • Course scheduling is done by main campus department and regional campus division chair • Workload is 12 credit hours per quarter
