  3. Institutional Arrangements • Internet Service Provider • Marshall Islands National Telecommunications Authority (MINTA) • Policy & Regulatory • Ministry of Transportation & Communications • Designation responsibility with Cabinet

  4. Internet Service Provision • NTA Network • Sole provider • Currently NTA has a total of 3Mbps downlink and 2Mbps uplink to the Internet • Current dialup customer base is around 1200 with roughly 30 broadband links to corporate and government offices. • Software & Hardware • Mail servers running on Solaris 10 • Cisco routers, switches, and access servers running on network core.

Policy & Regulation • Cabinet • Policy making responsibility • Designation • Ministry of Transportation and Communications • Limited to radio communications • Designated an external entity to provide registration and administration of .mh • Re-designation decision taken to .mh to local entity • Status of .mh

Future Plans • Infrastructure development • Backbone – high capacity fiber systems and digitization coaxial systems • Customer access network -Wifi hot spot deployment throughout the island • Ministry to be accorded full policy responsibility including domain administration and registration • National Telecommunications Policy • New legislation to be promulgated later this year
