  2. There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates These classifications are: Reptiles. Birds. Amphibians. Fish. Mammals.

  3. My Animal’s Classification The Quetzal is classified as a bird because it has wings and it has feathers.

  4. . The Quetzal is a warm blooded bird. The Quetzal breathes thru it’s lungs. My animal’s classification (continued)

  5. Appearance (properties) The Quetzal is three feet long. The Quetzal is a brightly colorful bird.

  6. Animal adaptation It likes to sit in one spot for a long time. The Quetzal eats fruit. It lives in South America. It is very friendly.

  7. Animal Adaptation Quetzals nest in rotting trees. The female lays 1 to 2 light blue eggs.

  8. Behavior and social habits Predators of the Quetzals include the gray squirrel , the ornate Hawk- eagle and Owls.

  9. Interesting facts The male Quetzal has tail feathers that are up to three feet long. The female’s tail is much shorter.
