  1. What is Transmedia? • In order to develop and overarching understanding of Transmedia it is important to consider firstly why we tell stories and why we use multi media to tell stories. Story telling is useful for three reasons being, entertainment, to persuade and to explain. Multi Media is beneficial for telling stories because no single media satisfies our curiosity. • Transmedia is a form of enhanced storytelling where content flows across multiple media platforms in order to convey a narrative. According to Henry Jenkins (2003) Transmedia represents a process where specific features of stories are spread over multiple media platforms with the purpose of developing a richer story. Although each media piece functions independently like a puzzle when put together they contribute in developing a deeper more detailed story. (Transmedi Storyteller, 2015)

  3. Types of Transmedia? • According to the Transmedia Storyteller the different types of Transmedia can be considerdby the following key terms: • Narrative space covered (location, characters, time) • The number and timing of the platforms (sequential, parallel, simultaneous, non-linear) • Extent and type of audience involvement (passive, active, interactive, collaborative) (Transmedi Storyteller, 2015)

  4. Types of Transmedia? (Transmedi Storyteller, 2015) There is number of single media platforms that act independent from one another with different narrative spaces and no audience activity between them. Covers a single narrative space with multiple platforms, when alone not sufficient but when put together forms a whole story.
