  3. the lord’s agenda • FOR THE INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIAN • Matthew 22:34-40; Matthew 28:16-20 • THE INDIVIDUAL CHRISTIAN IS A BODY PART • 1 Corinthians 12 • THE LOCAL CHURCH IS A MICROCOSM OF THE UNIVERSAL BODY OF CHRIST • Ephesians 4:11-16 • The mission of the local Church is to equip the saints to work in unison towards fulfilling the Great Commandment and Great Commission.

Consider the trend • SINCE 1/20/11 • + NEW MEMBERS (including babies and children): 52 People • 7 BABIES • 7 CHILDREN • - THREE FAMILIES HAVE MOVED AWAY: 13 People • = 39 people (includes adults, teenagers, children, and babies) • What if this trend continued at half the pace for two more years? • We would have 78 new committed members between 1/11 & 1/14 • How many first-time visitors have been to Sunday worship since 1/1/12? • 23

  5. EVANGELISM & DISCIPLESHIP • IN 2/11 OPBC COMMITTED TO BIBLICAL COUNSELING • THE RESULT? Over 40 members have taken NANC Fundamentals • The plan is to formally launch a free Biblical counseling ministry to reach our community through evangelism and the Church through discipleship. • OUR DESIRES • Remember Mountain Ministry (clinic and guard rails)? • A Mercy Ministry that Holds Hands with the Counseling Ministry • Resource Library • Bookstore • OUR NEEDS • Baby and Toddler Space; Sunday Morning Discipleship Space; Counseling Space; Storage; Fellowship Space; Gathering Area; Potential Sanctuary Expansion

Facilities planning committee • In May 2011 the Pastors appointed a FPC • Kemp Roddy; Tom Chase; Mike Mahan; Doug Zander; Bob Barker; Reggie Coleman; Tim Hinson. • Their goal was to design a building to meet our short-term needs that would fit into a possible long-term plan. • The FPC has been meeting bi-monthly for eight months. After prayerful deliberation, trips to other facilities, designing, and formalizing potential plans with an architect, the following is their recommendation:

Building specifications & Projected costs • 2,800 Square Foot Covered Gathering Area • Fellowship Lunches/Dinners: Seats 200 with Tables and Chairs • Connects to the Kitchen • New Entrance: Provides a Gathering Area and Turns Entry Room into a Foyer • Provides a Covered Transition Between Children/Sunday School and Sanctuary

Building specifications & projected costs • 4,460 Square Foot Building • Provides 9 Rooms For Sunday Morning Discipleship and Weekly Evangelism/Discipleship in Biblical Counseling • Provides 1 Large Room For Nursery with a Check-In Area (Toddlers are to remain by the playground) • Provides Massive Walk-In Storage (2nd Story) • Provides an Office with Isolated A/C • Provides an Administrative Lock-Up/Counting Room/File/Deacon and/or Pastors Meeting Room, etc.

  11. Projected Costs GATHERING AREA BUILDING • Area is 40x70 = 2800 SF • Cost Est. = $25 per SF • Total Projection = $70,000 • Space is 4,460 SF • Cost Est. = $60 per SF • Total Projection = $240,000

  12. Known financial reality TOTAL PROJECTED COST A CASH COMMITMENT • PROJECTED COST: $310,000 • “It always takes longer. It always costs more.” • Add $60,000 for a conservative estimate • TOTAL PROJECTED COST: $370,000 • $370k • $50k Immediately Available • = $320k • Average monthly expendable income: • $4k • = 6 years 6 months

What is next? • A COMMITMENT TO CONSENSUS, NOT COMPLIANCE • Please be open about questions and concerns • Please copy each Pastor to e-mails • FINALIZE DRAWINGS & SHOP ESTIMATES • 2 Sets of finalized drawings are needed before collecting estimates • To complete the drawings and to shop estimates will take 2-4 months

What is next? • DURING THE 2-4 MONTH PROCESS MENTIONED ABOVE, WE WILL BEGIN A BUILDING FUND • Please designate funds to “Building Fund” • The building fund will be updated each week in the bulletin • The funds will be used exclusively for the building plans discussed tonight • WE WILL HAVE ANOTHER SIMILAR MEETING IN 2-4 MONTHS WITH PLAN UPDATES, COST UPDATES, AND A FINANCIAL UPDATE
