  1. Welcome

  2. ActsFall Syllabus

  3. Overview • Review of 0001 Syllabus; • Review of 1001 Opening Notes for Study in the Book of Acts.

  4. Mission Statement • Disciple • Christian Leaders • Development • Exemplary Ambassadors

  5. Course Outcome Objectives • Affective : Heart • Cognitive : Mind • Volitional : Will

  6. Attendance • Be early • Be consistent • Be communicative – let me know how things are going. • This is Your class, but you live in COMMUNITY

  7. One Page Synopsis • Syn + opsis = “together, with” + “view” • Make sure it is on ONE page only • Add a Cover sheet with your name and other details (as per Turabian rules)

  8. Commentaries • Only one required! • And you have three choices to pick from: • #1: Acts 1:7-8 • #2: Acts 2:22-24 • #3: Acts 3:19-21

  9. 12 Insights from Acts • Many weeks to prepare, but don’t leave it too late~! • Only 6 minutes long; no longer than 360 seconds.

  10. Paul’s Chronology • You will prepare a fully reasoned, comprehensive account of Paul’s life from the time of his birth but only up to the end of his 3rd missionary journey. • This must be documented in some kind of paper fashion; it needs to be handed in. It will be graded by me on a separate sheet if you so desire. • You can prepare this in any number of ways (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, parchment scroll…) but it must be printed or hand written.

  11. Late Work • Late assignments will be penalized by 5% per weekday (25% per week). After two weeks, the penalties stop accumulating. • Quizzes may not be taken late. • NOTE: LATE MEANS RECEIVING AFTER THE TIME ASSIGNED. For example, if a paper is due on September 26 at 8:59 am, if it is received at 9:00 am or later of that day: it is deemed late.

  12. Conclusion • We’ve gone through the syllabus • Let’s now go through the opening notes on Acts • Next week come prepared for your first pop-quiz • Make sure you’ve read Acts chapter 1 (at least)!

  13. Questions & Answers • Questions?
