  4. Identify Identify the Problem Choose an issue that may need improvement. Problems that are not addressed, will remain problems. Examples: • Poor Survey Numbers • Tests Scores • Student Participation • Sleeping Students

  6. research Gather information At this point you should determine the scope of your issue. The inability to place defined limits on your research will lead to endless amounts of information that may or may not be useful • Survey Class • Scope Lock • Talk To Peers • Read Scholarly Articles • Stay on Point

  8. hypothesize List Your Possible Solutions Cross check your viable answers with your gathered information. Always work from most likely to least. Some problems don’t have a direct path to an answer. Proper “Scope Lock” will make your solutions manageable. • Occam's Razor • Keep Notes • Use a Process of Elimination
