Edwards (Balcones Fault Zone) • The Edwards aquifer covers approximately 4,350 square miles. • It contains 11 counties. • Water from the aquifer is primarily used for municipal, irrigation, and recreational purposes. • San Antonio obtains its entire municipal water supply from the Edwards aquifer.
