  6. Charging DO NOT OVERCHARGE Top right corner of screen shows a battery bar. If possible charge when in the “red”- usually 10% or less battery life. Charge by two ways: 1. Cord into outlet directly Or 2. Cord into computer

  11. Wi-Fi Set up • Select Wi-Fi • Make sure the button on the right says on • Under “Choose a Network” select Burlington • Type in Password Burl1ngt0n Top Left of Screen

  13. MAIL! Select “Mail, Contacts, Calendars” On right select “Add Account” Select email carrier Type in Name, Address, Password Select “Next” Verify

  15. Store This is where you will sign in and out of iTunes with a personal or school account! Shown through your “Apple ID”

  17. School vs. Personal Apple IDs School ID Personal ID Managed by you! All free app downloads Any cost apps you would like to purchase Management other options such as calendars, notes Full access Can be a home account you already use • Managed by IT department in each building • Cost apps approved by department • Similar apps by each job-alike person • You are unable to download independently

  18. Review! Under the General Settings Icon You can see which apple ID you are logged in as!

  20. SEARCH Find the “Search Bar” on the top right of the screen Tap Type in AppStart Click the icon

  21. On this sheet: Icon Cost Developer Description Version Rating Quick Look at App Click free under app icon then click install app

  22. Installing Existing ID- If you have an existing iTunes Apple ID use that OR Create New Apple ID Put in a HOME email Your information NONE for credit card

  23. Success! Practice downloading free apps such as FirstClass Mobile or Any on your list

  26. Multitasking Double click home button Apps will appear on right Music Options on Left

  27. Deleting/Moving AppsTap the Apps and Hold until it shakes,To Move: drag the apps where you want itTo Delete: click the black x on the left

  28. Making FoldersTap and hold the appDrag over another that would be best grouped togetherRename the folder as needed

  29. Cut/Copy/Paste Double click the selected text To highlight more drag the blue circles to the right or left Double click where you want to paste

  32. Syncing • When you plug your iPad into a computer and back up your information. • Two options may occur • 1. Automatically Syncs- your done! • 2. Warning Message pops up.

  33. Syncing • Warning message because you are syncing to two computers (school/home) • Click “Transfer Purchases” • Then sync again

  34. Back up Save your data on your iPad in case of “life” • To back up: • Open iTunes • Find your iPad on the Left column under device • Right click with your mouse, select back up

  35. Other When at home, authorize your computer for your iPad use Open iTunes Click Store on the top menu bar Highlight and click “Authorize Computer” Type in your Apple ID and password ALL SET!!
