  • With an allegory, you can read the text as just a story, playful and entertaining, but you can also read it on a political level or a psychological level.

  • Animal Farm-an allegory about the Russian Revolution, with various characters representing several figures or groups of people at that time.

  • Avatar

  • Dante’s Divine Comedy

  • Lord of the Flies

  • Chronicles of Narnia, the character Aslan is an allegory for Jesus Christ.

  • Black Guelphs-liked the Pope (sentenced Dante to exile)

  • White Guelphs-disliked the Pope

  • Lion=King of France

  • Friend of the Pope, French troops occupied Florence when Dante wrote this
