  3. Husqvarna K 970 Rescue Saw • Daily Check • Fuel (minimum ¾) • Blade guard in good repair. • Blade securely attached to saw. • Blade shows no signs of cracks or other defects. • Saw is ready to start.

  4. Husqvarna K 970 Rescue Saw • Starting Procedures: • Hold the saw firmly on the ground with the blade clear. (The cutting blade rotates when the engine is started) • Press in the decompression valve. Decompression Valve

  5. Husqvarna K 970 Rescue Saw • Starting Procedures: • Make sure the STOP switch is in the left position. • Cold Engine - Pull the choke out completely. • Warm Engine – Pull the choke out and then push it in again.

  6. Husqvarna K 970 Rescue Saw • Starting Procedures: • Press the air purge repeatedly until fuel fills the diaphragm (about 6 times). • Slowly pull the cord until you feel resistance, now quickly and powerfully pull the cord.

Husqvarna K 970 Rescue Saw • Operating Procedures: • Keep RPM’s high so blade doesn’t bog down in the cut. • If your blade begins to bog down, quickly raise it a bit from the point of contact and let the RPM’s spin back up without removing the blade from the cut. • Try to keep the blade straight and perpendicular to the cut. • Some pressure can be applied to increase cut speed.
