Work placements in VET in Croatia Description: • Defined by VET Act as one of forms of VET in Croatia (Art. 24-32) • Present in all program types but with different scope and duration • 3-yrs. craft programs most present (app 900/1500 hrs per year) • It is obligation of founders and VET schools to ensure work placements (except for 3-yrs. craft programs) • Work placement is governed by Contract on work-placement

Work placements in VET in Croatia Contract on work-placement (minor differences in Apprenticeship Contract): • Defined by VET Act and signed by VET school, employer and student • Employer must have suitable premises and equipment • Must appoint mentor to the student • Must ensure conditions for learning and work safety • „Must” pay reward to the student (10%, 20%, 25%, etc.) • VET teachers monitor and grade students • There is no licencing of employers, except in craft qualifications (CCC)
