  3. The United Kingdom developed a large navy because of its large coastline. • They were leaders in product development and trade.

  4. RUSSIA • LOCATION –Eastern Europe • LAND USE – Forestry, Commercial Farming, Urban, Ranching or Herding, Subsistence Farming • CLIMATE – Polar Tundra, Continental subarctic and cool summer, Dry Steppe (semi-desert) • NATURAL RESOURCES – Coal, Oil, Natural Gas, Iron, Aluminum, Nickel, Copper

  5. Russia did not explore or trade very much because most of their ports are frozen most of the year. • Russia was mostly an agricultural society, but often did not grow enough food because most of its land is frozen.
