Inquisitive Cubs (IC) is a digital edutainment platform designed to inspire, encourage and enable kids to independently

NEws Savannah features global current affairs & sports news, presented in a simple fashion using u201cthe WHAT (the event), the WHY (the context) and the HOW (past and
future linkages and impact)u201d lenses to news reading. The aim is to publish
substantive aspects in a holistic manner, and thereby enable our cubs to be
informed human beings with the ability to form perspectives.

 1. India in a technological breakthrough successfully tested an indigenously developed (that is developed entirely in India) hypersonic technology demonstrator vehicle (HSTDV). The test was conducted from Dr Abdul Kalam Island off the Odisha coast on September 7, 2020. These weapons can travel six times faster than the speed of sound (Mach 6 that is speed of 7,408 kilometer per hour) and penetrate any missile defence. With successful testing of hypersonic technology, India has entered the elite club of only three countries namely USA, Russia and China that have developed missiles using this technology and fly at lower altitudes and are extremely hard to intercept and track. In the test conducted by India, the cruise vehicle separated from the launch vehicle and the air intake opened as planned. The hypersonic cruise vehicle continued its flight path at Mach 6 speed that is nearly 2 km per second for more than 20 seconds The cruise vehicle tested on Monday was powered by scramjet engine an improvement over the existing ramjet technology. The scramjet technology operates efficiently at hypersonic speeds and allows supersonic combustion. On the other hand, ramjet engines are efficient at supersonic speed of around MACH 3 but their performance drops when the vehicle hits hypersonic speeds. India had conducted the first test of HSTDV in June 2019 but failed to meet mission parameters. Now the next challenge for India would be to ensure that the cruise vehicle can continue to travel at such high speed for a few hundred seconds for the weapon to strike its target. India could develop hypersonic cruise missiles powered by scramjet engines in about 4 years from now. Cubs, let’s salute to all the scientist involved in this technology breakthrough successful testing and be proud of RISING INDIA!

 2. Inquisitive Cubs (IC) is a digital edutainment platform designed to inspire, encourage and enable kids to independently navigate and immerse themselves in an enriching and fun filled experience. How it works: The platform uses a galaxy of segments to offer fun filled enriching experience to our cubs, with updates at a frequency suitable to each segment, and with a segment appropriate content that compliments holistic development. We recognise our cubs desire to have their own unique identity on the platform and therefore the platform offers them a choice of avatars on their profile page. #MakeinIndia #AtmanirbharBharat Resource: Hindustan Times
