This Week At Allsorts 09/09/2013

This week we have… Had fun playing camping in Julie’s tent, made a beach with yellow and blue building blocks and then had a very British (i.e. cold!) seaside picnic at snack time . We have played party games to celebrate the birthdays that we have had this week – many thanks for the cakes!

  1. This week we have… • Had fun playing camping in Julie’s tent, made a beach with yellow and blue building blocks and then had a very British (i.e. cold!) seaside picnic at snack time. We have played party games to celebrate the birthdays that we have had this week – many thanks for the cakes! • Arts and Crafts/Cookery: we have made some lovely Autumn pictures, using materials collected on our nature walk on Tuesday afternoon and using leaf stickers. • Music and Movement: We are looking at different musical instruments each week. This week we have looked at recorders. If you have a musical instrument that you could bring in to show the children we would love to hear from you. • Next week… • Library bus. Please, please bring back any library books that you have at home or take them to your local library. • Harvest festival on Friday. Brightwell Primary School/Preschool will again be supporting The Porch in Oxford. If you would like to contribute please bring coffee, drinking chocolate, squash and cooking oil to school on Friday. • We would really appreciate any spare toilet roll tubes. • Notices/Dates • Sat 14thSept: Brightfest at the Pavilion. • Wed 18th Sept: 7.45 for 8pm start. Parent Group Meeting. Come along and meet the Committee. • Sat 21st Sept: 2-4pm Teddy bear drop at St Agathaschurch. Take your teddy bear to St. Agatha’s church. Refreshments are available and children’s activities are provided. • Wed 25th Sept: Coffee morning for all parents at 11.15am  • Sat 28th September: We will be holding a working garden partyfrom 10am. Please come along and support us. Children welcome. Coffee and snacks provided! • Letter of the Week/Show and Tell – Letter of the week next week is “B,b”. For new parents: Each week we have a letter that we use with the children through the day.We also encourage the children to bring in something from home to show to the other children, this could be something beginning with the week’s letter, or something which shows what they have been doing at home, or just a favourite toy (please don’t bring in anything too valuable/treasured!)
