  1. Strategic Airlift Strategic Sealift Seabasing Lines of Operation(Close, Assemble, Employ, Sustain, Reconstitute) Aerial Port of Debarkation Aerial Port of Embarkation Joint Task Force Objective Sea Port of Debarkation Sea Port of Embarkation APOD APOE JTF OBJ SPOD SPOE Relevant whether the Sea base is 2 ships …. Or 30 ships

  2. LET’S FOCUS ASSEMBLY AT SEA

  3. (1) Joint force personnel fly into the sea-base (amphib and MPF(F) big decks) on long range rotary wing aircraft, such as the MV-22, or over sea via high speed JHSV, or other surface craft. AIR FIELD at Sea & PORT at Sea At Sea Arrival & Assembly of Joint Forces Seabasing : What’s New ? LHD / LHA MLP Increased SPEED and FLEXIBILITY of response Force = Personnel + Equipment

  4. Vehicle Transfer System (2) Equipment already forward in theater as part of maritime prepositioning or in other forward locations is offloaded while underway by and to the Mobile Landing Platform (MLP) This equipment could be NATO equipment on any number of Allied logistic or leased commercial ships. The MLP will significantly enable our Allies ability to also close, assemble and tailor force packages at sea. Selective Offload Seabasing : What’s New ? LHD / LHA (3) Joint personnel to man the equipment are re-positioned or cross-decked onto the MLP or JHSV to marry up with their equipment and organized for employment ashore. MLP At Sea Arrival & Assembly of Joint Forces

  5. Seabasing : What’s New ? (4) MLP then moves joint force (personnel + equipment) from the protected Sea Base which is well over the horizon (40NM+) to ~25 NM where forces then move ashore from the MLP or amphib shipping on high speed JMAC, EFV, and / or rotary wing aircraft. LHD / LHA MLP MLP

  6. “So, When Can We Do That?” Given our NMS call for forward, persistent presence to provide combatant commanders and the State Dept with tailored, multi-capable joint forces, is this soon enough?
