  5. Funding resources • NSC (National Science Council) • MoE (Ministry of Education) • NSPO (National Space Program Office) -- ROCSAT 1 in operation -- ROCSAT 2 and 3 under construction -- planning 3 or more ROCSATs in the next 15 years, some of which could be defined as astronomical satellites.

  6. Projects and activities • TXAS (Taiwan X-ray Astronomy Satellite) * still in concept study * phase A expected to complete by end 2003 * partners: NCU, NSPO, NTHU, NTNU, + ??? • HEAp/TIARA (Theoretical Institute for Advanced Research in Astrophysics) * TIARA will start running in 2003, with annual budget of 1~2 million USD * TIARA will be located in the campus of NTHU, Hsinchu

  7. Projects and activities (cont.) • GLAST/LAT * NTU is planning to join the GLAST/LAT integration and testing, also software developing. * still depending on funding approval • NuTel * to detect 1016 ~ 1018 eV cosmic neutrinos * NTU is applying for funding • CosPA * Center of Cosmology and Particle Astrophysics in NTU campus, Taipei
