  2. History of Leiden Leiden is a town with a lot history. There is so much information, we cant tell it all. History: The Pieterskerk (church) In the Middle Ages was it customary to bury dead people in a church. That happened in the Pieterskerk (church), but only the rich people. The church is now very well known in Leiden.

  3. October 3 October 3 is a very famous day in Leiden. Leiden was besieged by the Spaniards. We were liberated on October 3. Now, in 2013 we still celebrate the liberation of Leiden. We eat traditional food (Hutspot), That's food with carrots, unions and potatoes. And we go to the ‘Kermis’. That's a place with a lot of games and a lot of attractions. Students and Pupils (in Leiden) of all schools are free on October 3.

  5. Leiden to day Leiden is a city. Its a very famous city, because there are many nice shopping district’s. The biggest one is the Haarlemmerstraat. The Haarlemmerstraat has many side streets. There are many student houses in that side streets. Leiden is not a very big city, but its a very well knowing place for tourists.

  6. Hobbies • There is also an opportunity to pursue your hobbies expressed. • The Leidse Balletschool (for dancers) • LTV (for tennis) • UVS (soccer) • Op eigen wieken( creative stuff and music instruments) • Alecto (hockey) • And ofcource lot more associations

  7. Health and welfare There are two hospitals in Leiden. examples: LUMC( Leids Universitair Medisch Centrum) Diaconesseziekenhuis There are enough shelters for the elderly Like Leythenrode There are also many drugstores.

  9. Schools in Leiden There are many schools in Leiden. Primary, secondary education and universities . There are over 50 schools in Leiden!
