Facts • 32% population between 15 and 29 year • 2.4 % growth in working age population • 790.000 will enter the labor market annually • looking for about 200.000 jobs annually • 80 % of unemployed are youth between 15 and 24 • 70% secondary, 22% university graduates • 32 % of men, 59 % of women in the age of 15 to 24 are unemployed • 40 % informal labor market

Impact of MKI-DS • Enhanced transition from schooling to vocational careers and interactive employability • Key Areas of MKI-DS to enhance the traditional TSS: • Increasing the initiative employability – a road towards interactive employability • Enhancing the relevance of workplace training • Increasing the information flow about labour market • Loyalty to job and vocational identity • Increased ambition to become better in a job or entrepreneurship • Use of new media (Internet and TV) in job search

Success factors • From government led to PPP on all levels (steering, financing and implementation) (responsibility also by private sector) • Jointly developed and agreed curricula (technology change) • Combination of work-process experience and formal schooling (3 years program; 4 days in company - 2 days in TS School) • Qualifications relevant to the labor market (accepted certificates) • Decentralized coordination by regional structures to follow local demand and cultural work realities • Easier work integration and low transition cost
