Our Mission QENO is a partnership between UNCW, funders, civic leaders and other community organizations to help build the capacity of nonprofit organizations and increase philanthropy in southeastern North Carolina. What We Do • Locate resources to support workshops & training on topics of interest to nonprofits • Host networking events • Connect potential board members to nonprofit boards • Connect expert consultants with nonprofits who desire their help

Our Results In 2009: • 77 local nonprofit leaders attended “Achieving in Tough Times,” a QENO conference led by internationally known nonprofit management expert Hal Williams. • 75 nonprofit representatives attended one of six QENO board governance training sessions • Workshops: Social Networking rating 4.7; (5 = Excellent) Reaching & Surpassing Goals Through Strategic Planning rating 4.8; Leadership Institute 4.96 • Since June 2009, nonprofit executive directors have attended Roundtables, representing 60 organizations: participation has doubled to an average of 30

  9. Looking Toward Tomorrow:QENO’s Short Term goals: • Improve nonprofit capacity • Increase workshop and consultation offerings & attendance • Increase communication across the nonprofit sector • Expand awareness of the importance, size and scope of the nonprofit sector; increase philanthropy
