  3. NA Leaders & Our Service System • Leaders operate within a system • Each system component has a complimentary function • Service system functions differ – we all work together toward NA Vision • Each component accountable to those they serve

  4. Common Responsibilities of Leaders • Planning/Organizing/Prioritizing • Oversight and Evaluation • Communication • Leadership Development • Creating an Atmosphere of Recovery

  5. Leader as a Facilitator • Generates dialog, discussion and input within our service groups. • Foster a group conscience to guide discussion and decision-making • Builds consensus and manages conflict with the group – all points of view are considered

  6. Leader as a Conduit of Information • Responsible to carry needs and concerns of fellowship • Clear understanding of roles and functions of components of our service system • Know what information is important to deliver & what information to take back • Efficient delivery of information

  7. Small Group Discussion - Scenarios • Leader as Facilitator – What could the Chairperson have done to better manage the discussion? • Leader as Conduit of Information – What could you have done to better communicate the information?

  8. Call to Action • Leadership unique experience with many rewards. • Our impact as leaders: - Beyond our service system and our position - Changes benefit those here now and in the future - Help the suffering addict
