  1. Introducing… BusinessObjects Webinars Mark Davis-Craig January 23, 2008

  2. What is SQL? New learning opportunities • To augment the learning opportunities for BusinessObjects, MAIS will offer a regular series of 30-minute interactive Webinars. Imagine a call-in TV show.

  3. Program content and availability • A program schedule will be on the Web, listing the content of at least the next three programs so you may plan in advance which ones to watch. • A recording of each Webinar will be available for playback on the Web. The broadcast will be aimed at both live participants and users who view the recording afterwards.

  4. Targeted learning to specific audiences • Each program will be targeted to a specific experience level of BusinessObjects user: beginner, intermediate, or advanced. • Real U-M data will always be used in examples. • Participants in the live Webinar will be able to submit questions online.

  5. Further details • Users will register for the Webinars in MyLINC. • The eventual intention is for the Webinars to occur on a predictable schedule. • The initial tentative schedule is shown on the next few slides.

  6. Thursday, February 14, 9:00 - 9:30 AM • Creating Simple Queries from Scratch • Beginner level • Fin, HR, and SA data used Jeanne Mackey will demonstrate the process of creating a simple query to show information that is not currently available in UM-Maintained documents. Three different queries will be created --one each in Fin, HR, and SA--so that beginners can learn using familiar data.

Wednesday, March 5, 9:00 - 9:30 AM • Format Zero and Alerters • Intermediate • Applicable to all data areas Jeanne Mackey will demonstrate formatting zero and null values to display as BLANK, 0, 0.00, $0, $0.00, 00000000, whatever. She will also show how to use alerters to highlight specific information in a report. draw attention to values that meet a certain condition. For instance, Financial reconcilers might want to highlight dollar amounts greater than X on their statements of activity.
