  1. Welcome to RES Open House! Mrs. Moore’s Classroom 4th Grade Room B-2

  2. How to contact Mrs. Moore • Email: katelyn.moore@onslow.k12.nc.us • School Phone: 910-324-4142 • To receive reminders from me by text: Send this message: @bb1fc To this number: (980)365-6611

  3. Open House Procedures • Fill out the forms on the back table first! • Parent Name and Contact Information • Transportation Information • Volunteer Interest Form (only if interested!)

  4. Open House procedures • Then find an open seat with blank paperwork and fill out the necessary forms! • I know there are a lot of forms, but it truly is best to get them filled out while you are here. • The forms I need returned include: • Emergency Form • Partnership Agreement • Internet Permission • Photo Release Form • Corporal Punishment Exemption • Insurance Waiver (If not taking insurance) • Bus Safety • Checklist: Make sure you received all important forms and filled them out!

  5. Class information: volunteers • If you are interested in volunteering in the classroom or in our school in general, be sure you filled out a form in the back! • Volunteers do need to be fingerprinted through the county office • Dates can be found on the county website! • The school is looking for some volunteers for lunch duty and assistance in the children’s “extra” special time • If this is something you are interested in let me know specifically so I can forward your information on to Mrs. Ervin!

  6. Class information: schedule • RES is running on a new schedule this year known as the WAVE schedule, which will give the children great consistency! • The WAVE is a 6 day rotation, where 5 days are provided for uninterrupted general academic instruction. • On the one other day of the rotation, the students will spend almost the entire day in their specialty academic classes. • Art, P.E., Music, Spanish, Media, Computers, Guidance, etc. • Our specialty class day is Day 4. • You can find a calendar with the Days outlined for the entire year.

  7. Class information: PBIS • PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) is our school behavior management plan. • This plan rewards positive behaviors with a ticket system. Students can earn tickets for a variety of reasons when showing positive behaviors. • Students can then turn in their tickets for rewards weekly or save up for the end of each 9 week large incentive activity. • This allows students to be accountable for their actions and must show responsibility when saving their tickets.

  8. Thank you!! • Thanks for coming to our open house!! • Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this upcoming school year. • Always know you can contact me for any reason and I will be happy to meet with you or talk things through whenever necessary! I look forward to getting to know you and your children. -Mrs. Moore
