  1. 1 – Standard Anatomical Position(You will work in groups of 2!) • Stand in Standard Anatomical position • Correct your lab partner’s position • Sketch using stick figures your partner in SAP Label Superior and Inferior • Next sketch a dog in standard anatomical position (also stick figure) Label Dorsal and Ventral • Name two different joints that are at 180 degree angles • Name a joint that is at 90 degree angle. • What part of the hands is posterior, Palms or back of hand?

  2. 2 - Body planes and directions • Create 14 flash cards using the following terms • Anterior (3 of them) • Posterior (3 of them) • Dorsal • Ventral • Superior • Inferior • Lateral • Medial • Proximal • Distal

Post it on your partner • Place anterior labels on • Leg • Trunk (torso) • Head • Place posterior labels on • Leg • Trunk (torso) • Head • Distal and proximal • Place on shoulder and elbow • Superior and inferior • Place on thorax and abdomen • Medial and lateral • On left ankle • Dorsal and Ventral • Place the correct ones next to a Posterior and Anterior label

Assesment • Which terms best describe the position of the right eye in relation to the right ear? • Which of the terms best describes the position of the right eye in relation to the nose? • Which term best describes the relation between your elbow and your wrist? • Which term best describes the relation between the sternum (breast bone) and your umbilicus (belly button)?
