  1. Inspiring and Directing: Roles of Boss and Leader in Engaging Employees The organization consists of several key personalities and roles such as a boss, leader, employees, trainer, etc for proper functioning and maintenance. In the dynamics, the terms boss and leader are often interchanged though they have different roles and responsibilities in management. Understanding the difference between these roles for better team management and employee engagement has become very crucial, as it is necessary to have a clear vision of their duties in the organization. One can push oneself to their highest potential when they have a bigger vision and aim, here let us learn more about the differences in the position and their fundamental roles in fostering organizational success. Directing and Managing In the hierarchical structure of the organization, the boss holds the position of authority. With quality experience and excellence in a particular domain or field, a boss can make the appropriate decision in directing and managing overall ongoing processes. Authoritative decision-making: In the case of a boss, the decisions are followed with the top-down approach which means the orders or rules are been passed by the higher authorities and asked to be followed. This will not give any opportunities for the employees to express their thoughts and ideas on the problems and hence it will limit inputs and creativity in the approach. Task-oriented management: A boss will always focus and give importance to task completion and efficiency rather than employee engagement and well-being. This might affect the human aspect of work and will also hinder the long-term good employee relationship. This will be more of a transactional relationship and will lack the depth of commitments and engagements as there will be no shared goals and values. Discipline in work: A boss will command the things and instructions that must be followed in the work palace. If failed to do so the mistakes will have to be borne with punishments, this is also considered as a way to reduce the flaws and increase work efficiency. Along the side, rewards are also granted foremployee performance as a good boss knows the power of appreciation. To know more about management, visit Apac Business Times
