  3. Starter Activity: Complete the picture Homework on desk! • Can you label this body picture with the areas of the body that are important in personal hygiene. Add notes about how often each area needs attention.

  4. Why is hygiene important? First impressions count!

  12. Task 2 Think, Pair, Share… • 30 seconds – THINK – Which life stage is it the hardest to look after personal hygiene? • 1 minute – PAIR – With the person next to you, discuss. Did you have similar answers? What different answers did you think of and why? • 3 minutes – SHARE – As a class, we will go to each pair and discuss your ideas. STRETCH AND CHALLENGE Have you considered PIES? Why are some life stages harder than others?

Task 3 • In pairs you will be given a life stage to research looking at the importance of personal hygiene • Produce a poster/ leaflet to help people in your life stage about the key elements of personal hygiene, what is important to know and why. Outline the problems that can happen if they do not follow the basics. STRETCH AND CHALLENGE Can you consider how the physical, intellectual emotional and social aspects of a lack of personal hygiene interrelate?
