IDENTIFICATION Overarching Analysis Question: Does the district implement identification procedures and practices to ensure that ALL student suspected of having a disability receive a special education evaluation and services, if appropriate? Probing Questions: Analysis and Use of Data Prereferral Interventions Child Find Evaluation/Eligibility Fiscal Funds

Goals of Collaborative Community Session -To deepen individual knowledge and expertise by providing a platform for you to share information, materials, and resources - To promote shared work among Pioneer RESA districts -To facilitate continuous improvement within our region -To improve outcomes of students with disabilities • Time for individual system reflection on probing questions worksheet • Small group discussion about common areas of concern and common areas where policies, procedures, and practices are clear and effective • Share-out to larger group, with open discussion

  4. Directions for Activity • Within your group, designate a note-taker and a reporter • Complete the Identification Process Worksheet for your system. When you have completed the worksheet, highlight any items that are rated 3 or less. (30 minutes) • Small group discussion: What does this information reveal regarding your system’s current policies, procedures, and practices in the area of Identification. What are the commonalities within your group? What have other systems implemented that might be helpful to you? How will you use this information to plan your next steps with developing policies, procedures, and practices in the area of Identification? (30 minutes) • SHARE OUT- each group will have approximately 10 minutes to share information from small group discussion (35 minutes) • Reflection (10 minutes)
