  4. Goal • Your goal is to get the person you're pitching it to – excited. It’s more than just spelling out the synopsis. EMOTIONAL PROVOCATION

  5. PITCH TIPS • Appearance, not always needed to wear suits, but be presentable. • Bring a beat sheet, cards, of the key points to your pitch. (Don’t read the presentation aloud in its entirety) • Appear relaxed and confident, odds are they are tired of pitches, your nervous, just embrace that feeling. Don’t over speak!

  6. PITCH TIPS • Make eye contact, not just one person, but work the room, give everyone a moments attention while working those who are the biggest decision makers. • Don’t mumble, or say Ughh or like a thousand times. • Spell out the premise…they want to know if it has possibilities.

  7. PITCH TIPS • Deliver the logline or tagline of the project. • Briefly cover what your prelim research indicates as to who the market is… • Give quick rundowns of characters • Be prepared to give more than you originally plan on sharing. Know the details of the story • Is anybody worth mentioning attached… • Props and viz aids are at your discretion.

  8. FINAL THOUGHT • You can give the worlds greatest pitch, but if the idea itself is sub par, it’s not likley to sell. Likewise, a great idea can sometimes survive a subpar pitch. No matter where your project falls…the more prepared pitch the better the chances.
