  1. Welcome to the TZ Library Media Center! Happy 2010...

  2. Welcome to the Media Center ! This slide show will review the media center policies and procedures!

  3. Friendly Faces Mrs. Smith I am looking forward to a great year and am very excited to get to know the TZ students and their families. It is my goal to provide students with the tools they need to be successful critical thinkers and to nurture a love for learning and literature. Mrs. Scheuermann.

  4. For Your Information Please help your child take care of his/her library books and keep them in a safe place from siblings. We will continue to have our Reading Counts program, Young Hoosier books, and a variety of research projects in collaboration with classroom teachers. We love to have volunteers and visitors in our Library Media Center. Please contact me if you can help out in any way.

  5. Our Checkout Schedule A flexible schedule is implemented for Monday-Friday. Teachers may bring their classes to the library for checkout, research, and YH read-alouds, etc. Students may checkout a variety of books and depending on the type of book he/she may keep it for 1 week and then renew it or they may return it at any time. If it is a Reading Counts book they may take their quiz on it after reading the entire book.

  6. Media Center Rules • Follow directions the first time given • Talk softly to avoid bothering others • Pillows, cushions, and beanbags are reserved for readers • The steps are for reading and listening only • Walk at all times

  7. Overdue/Lost Materials Students may not check out any books or magazines if they have even one item overdue. If you have lost or damaged a book, please let Mrs. Smith know. You must take care of damaged/lost books before checking out again.

  8. Reading Counts • Our school participates in a school-wide reading program • Students will be recognized for their hard work • Our theme this year is: TZ’s Rockin’ Readers! • You may take a quiz after you have read the book. • Any quiz that was taken and passed last year will still be on your Reading Counts record. • I will delete a quiz if your teacher asks me to or if the computer shuts down/freezes up during a quiz.

  9. Young Hoosier Books • TZ participates in the YH Book Award Program • Third grade students will have the YHPB read aloud to them • 4th & 5th grade students will read YH books on their own

  10. Thank you for visiting the TzouanakisLibrary Media Center!
