  2. Theatre Audition Requirements STUDENTS WILL PREPARE A ONE-MINUTE MONOLOGUE A MONOLOGUE IS A SHORT SPEECH A CHARACTER SAYS IN A PLAY. MONOLOGUES MAY BE COMEDIC OR DRAMATIC. MONOLOGUES MUST BE MEMORIZED. STUDENTS WILL ALSO BE INTERVIEWED AND ASKED TO DO AN IMPROVISATION.

  3. JUST A NOTE ABOUT IMPROVISATION: YOU WILL BE ASKED TO MAKE SOMETHING UP ON THE SPOT. JUST A COUPLE OF HELPFUL REMINDERS: • YOU CAN’T GET IT WRONG-DO WHAT COMES TO MIND. • DON’T HOLD BACK-WE WANT TO SEE HOW SHARP YOUR IMAGINATION IS. • DON’T SAY NO IN AN IMPROV. IT CUTS THE SCENE SHORT.

  4. CHECKLIST: • COMPLETE APPLICATION: IS DUE BY DECEMBER 20th. NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED. • ONCE YOUR APPLICATION HAS BEEN SUBMITTED AND REVIEWED, AN AUDITION TIME WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR YOU • AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD BETWEEN JANUARY 13TH-17TH . • BEAK A LEG!

The FAME recruitment timeline is as follows: • October: Visit middle schools. • November 19th:FAME informational meeting in the  NMHS Theatre @ 7:00pm • December 20th- All Visual Arts portfolios are due. All portfolios are to be submitted to Ashley Houlihan. • December 20th: All applications due to NMHS. No late applications will be accepted.  Applications should be addressed as follows: • New Manchester High School • Attn: Damien Gaiters/FAME Application  • 4925 Hwy92/166 • Douglasville, GA 30135 • January 13-17: FAME auditions (For performing arts ONLY) • January 21- Acceptance notifications • January 30- Acceptance Receptions @ NMHS
