How to decipher life at an engineering college in the post-Covid times All of the top B Tech colleges in UPand across the country suffered due to universities’ forced closures that suspended physical classrooms. The top BTech colleges in UP that were private made the digital world transition much more smoothly than the public ones. Many debates also raged online till a while back as to the nature of these classes, the future of examinations, and the validity of such evaluations conducted online. The faculty at most institutes grappled with these changes well, while students adjusted their time schedules accordingly. The first response The first response of most top B Tech colleges in UP when the lockdowns were announced was to suspend the classes for a while. They wanted to see how the pandemic will affect. This gave them enough time to explore online classes. Most of the top BTech colleges in UP soon enabled their faculty and students to attend online classes. They shared study materials over the internet in a variety of ways. Interactive sessions helped clear the students’ doubts and quickly evaluate the student’s progress through various LMS-based software. Transition to digital This move to the digital world was made by the top B Tech colleges in UP as a temporary measure, thinking that the pandemic would be over soon. But when the problem showed no signs of abating, many of the top BTech colleges in UP invested in their infrastructure and set up digital training systems for both students and teachers. They started utilizing online classes in mainly two ways. First was the recorded lectures that students could access anytime and anywhere. The second was through live classes. The government too chipped in by providing online platforms that supported this transition to digital. The limiting factor While technology enables, it also became a limiting factor in some cases. Teachers at the top B Tech colleges in UP were able to use different teaching methodologies to provide education to many students across the country. This helped provide students not enrolled with the top BTech colleges in UP access to better teachers. But technology also made it harder for the students to study without disruptions due to a still-evolving network infrastructure in many parts of the country. Many teachers also feel that digital dematerialized teaching and led to mass education. It reduces the validity of the institution to act as subcontractors of education. The value of education is an experience that cannot be undermined and yet should be available to all.
